Enontekiö Local Heritage Museum

The Local Heritage Museum has stunning views of Lake Ounasjärvi and the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. It is a nice place to stop for a coffee to soak up the atmosphere, eat a packed lunch, or admire the scenery.

The main building is the Hätänen house, which was moved from the village of Raattama and was originally built in the late 19th century.

The museum area has other buildings from Ylikyrö: Vieno Kyrö's cabin from the 1920s and an 18th-century “glue shed”, a small building that was used to make glue from reindeer antlers. In addition, there is a pre-war cowshed from Kaukonen, Kittilä, and a smoke sauna built in 1937 from Muotkajärvi, Enontekiö. Vieno Kyrö's cabin also offers artefact exhibits.
